St. Rita's 64th Annual Fiesta - June 1st and June 2nd

Posted on May 14 2018 - 7:20pm
Time to pick your volunteer shift for the St. Rita Fiesta if you haven't already!
The Fiesta is Friday, June 1st 5-10pm and Saturday, June 2nd 2-10pm.

We need all of you!  Each year Troop 163 sends dozens of volunteers to help run the Fiesta Game Booths and in other areas.  This is another way to say thank you to our Chartering Organization, to earn service hours and to have a ton of fun! If you work a minimum 2 hour shift, you will receive a $5.00 meal voucher (and a t-shirt as they are available).  As the largest single parish event in the Diocese of Rochester, it takes over 400 volunteers to make this a success.

Here is the SignUpGenius link to shifts where we have the greatest needs.

This link is currently open to the public - so the sooner you pick your shift, the better chance of getting it.

If you need other options, please follow this link to the Fiesta Volunteer page.

Scout Sunday - 9am St Rita Mass, Feb 4th

Posted on Jan 14 2018 - 11:42am
Volunteer here for Scout Sunday:

The Boy Scouts of America annually celebrates its founding on February 8, 1910, based on the program started by Lord Baden Powell in England, on August 1, 1907.

Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts across America celebrate Scout Sunday in honor of a Scout's "Duty to God" and his commitment to the Scout Law that says "A Scout is Reverent."  Scouting develops strong character and life skills vital to building ethical leaders for our families, churches, and communities.  Scouts learn self-reliance and to solve problems, become leaders through experience, give back to the community, and learn to respect all people.

On February 4th, at the 9:00 AM mass, St. Rita Church invites all scouts and their families to join the St. Rita community in the Eucharistic celebration.  Joining the parish family in worship and serving in the various liturgical ministries displays our unity and joint support of one another.  We will recognize Scouts who have earned religious medals this year during mass.

We strongly encourage all of Troop 163 to attend in full Class A uniform.  We will meet in Room 1 at 8:30 AM.  We ask that Scouts and Scouters wear their Full Class A uniform.  We will process into the church as a group and sit together.  You do not have to be Catholic to attend the mass and show your support.

Please take a moment now to click the SignupGenius link above and volunteer for one of the many ministries listed.  Also, please register your attendance on the website so we will know how many seats to reserve for the scouts and how much food to buy for the reception.

We invite all scouts and their families to a reception in the gym following the Scout Sunday Mass.

Thank you and please feel free to contact me with any questions.
